Our Community Garden

You may have been wondering what some of our MVCH volunteers were doing at the community hall?

Over the next few weeks we will be building planters and begining to create our community garden.

We want to increase the biodiversity in our park, with the help of a recent successful grant for £1,000 from Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN) http://www.csgnt.org.uk/ , ASDA funding and additional funds from MVCH.

If you would like to get involved send us a message on http://www.mvch.co.uk/contact/ We will be at the hall on Sunday from 12pm along with some volunteers from the local community to start work on the community garden.

We plan to continue to meet up on Sundays to make further improvements so watch this space or better still come along and help us create a wonderful space for the community to use and enjoy together 🙂

The Mount Vernon Community Hall (MVCH) volunteers are hosting a volunteering day on Wednesday the 22nd of November 17 between 10am and 3:30pm and are inviting everyone to come along and take part. We will be working along side The Conservation Volunteers.

The volunteers are required to help with clearing the site of debris and removing some of the overgrown plants and trees in preparation to creating a path for our nature trail. Give one hour of your time a morning, afternoon or the entire day, it really doesn’t matter. No previous experience necessary, and all ages and skills levels are welcomed you may even learn a new skill in the process!

We hope that you can make it along on the day of you are free.

Many thanks

Mount Vernon Community Hall Volunteers
