Mount Vernon Community Hall promoting Active Travel for everyday travel,  to help reduce the effects of  Climate Change, as well as the Health Benefits of regular cycling. 

Cycling is mainly an aerobic activity, which means that your heart, blood vessels and lungs all get a workout. You will breathe deeper, perspire and experience increased body temperature, which will improve your overall fitness level.

The health benefits of regular cycling include:

  • increased cardiovascular fitness

  • increased muscle strength and flexibility

  • improved joint mobility

  • decreased stress levels

  • improved posture and coordination

  • strengthened bones

  • decreased body fat levels

  • prevention or management of disease

  • reduced anxiety and depression.


Mount Vernon Cycling free sessions take place on a Friday between 10 and 12pm please send us and email : if you would like to join us

Funding Secured from Energy Savings Trust for 2 ebikes 

one bike and one cargo bike 

This will allow people to use our bikes during future Cycling Club

Funding Secured for 5 Hybrid Youth and 5 Hybrid Adult Bikes from Cycling Scotland. 

This will allow people to use our bikes during our future Cycling Club additional funding through Baillieston Sports Hub
