Where is Mount Vernon Community Hall and how do I get there ?

Mount Vernon Community Hall sits within Mount Vernon Park in the East end of Glasgow. It has a car park with spaces for about 30 cars and the road access is via Kenmuir Avenue. ( from Wester Road turn into Muirside Avenue then turn left to enter the park the hall is straight ahead)

There are also four pedestrian access points from Mount Vernon Avenue, Woodend Road, Kenmuir Avenue and via the Wester Road park entrance.

 

The Hall is a short walk from a number of bus routes from Glasgow City Centre (First bus numbers 2, 240 and 255) and is less than 5 minutes walk from Mount Vernon Railway

How can I contact MVCH Volunteers?

As the hall is run by volunteers who work around their work and home commitments we are not always at the hall all of the time.  However, there are a number of ways to contact us.

If you provide us with your preferred date and time we'll check the diary and let you know if its available and give you an indication of the likely hire cost.

How much does it cost to hire Mount Vernon Hall?

 

We have a 3 hour minimum party hire and it costs £65.  This allows for a 2 hour party/event with half an hour either side for you to set up and clear up.  You can add additional hours at a cost of £25 per hour.

In order to confirm your Hall Let Booking we require you to:

  1. Complete and return our hall booking form (which will be sent to you if the date and time requested are free) and

  2. Pay a £20 deposit -The deposit can be paid by bank transfer, cheque or cash (this should be received within 48 hours of your provisional booking ).

  3. The balance should be made in full one week prior to the hire commencing.

Do you have a bar?

No, we don't have a bar however you can organise for a mobile bar to come to the hall for your event and use the kitchen ares located just off the main hall and seating area 

What does the hire cost include?

Your hire cost includes full access to all our facilities including the Main Hall (Capacity 150), the stage, the adjoining lounge area (Capacity 30) and our small kitchen area.

In the main hall there is

21 large rectangular tables- (dimensions are 70cm high, 69 cm wide, 182cm in length) - table cloths not included (will fit up to 8 chairs around it)

1 small rectangular table

9 small rectangular children's tables ( 80cm long, 60cm wide)

3 small circular children's tables

150 adult's stackable chairs 

55 children's chairs

All above you are free to use within the cost of the hall hire

Additional charges 

We have 10 banqueting tables (72 inches / 6 foot in diameter ) that can be hired for an additional fee of £5 each- table cloths not included

Can I hire a bouncy castle? if so what is the hall dimensions?

Yes you can hire a bouncy castle to use in the hall we have many companies provide bouncy castles in the hall. The main Hall is about 15m in diameter and dome ceiling reaches about 10m at highest point 

Can I hire the hall for teenage Parties?

 

Unfortunately at the moment, we are not in a position to holding teenage parties at the hall.

 

How late can I hire the hall for a party?

 

Our hall can be hired up to 11:30pm the party music must be off for 11pm at the latest to avoid disturbing neighbours to the hall. This allows 30 minutes for the hall to be cleared up and ready for the hall volunteers to come and close the hall.
